Our newly-opened emergency facility, located in Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania, is open 24 hours a day. That means that we are actively searching to add quality individuals to our team. Below are a few of our current open positions.
 

Veterinarian

Mason Dixon Animal Emergency Hospital is seeking full-time and part-time emergency veterinarians to join our team.

Conveniently located in Shrewsbury, PA, our emergency veterinary hospital provides critical after-hours pet care for northern Baltimore County and southern York County, as well as surrounding areas in Maryland and Pennsylvania. We love both working and living in the Mason Dixon community – our vets drive home to Stewartstown, White Hall, and Lancaster. We’re not owned by a large corporation like many other ER vets and emergency pet centers. We’re women-owned and locally-owned, and we’re proud of it.

We opened the doors of our 6200 sqf facility on June 1, 2020 – at the height of the pandemic. Despite the stresses of the world around us, we have grown quickly and are in need of additional veterinarians to staff our 24/7 pet ER.

Applicants should possess a team player mentality, the desire to provide excellent patient care as well as a commitment to client communication. Applicants should be able to work nights, weekends and holidays. Our schedule is designed with several days off to allow personal time and your desired lifestyle. Experience in emergency and critical care, as well as surgery, is preferred.

Technician

We are interested in both full-time and part-time experienced veterinary technicians, who want to love what they do. Candidates should possess a strong skill set in critical care, anesthesia, and surgery. Candidates should also have proficient computer skills, knowledge of in-house lab equipment and digital radiography, excellent client communication skills, be a team player and possess a positive attitude.

Our passion is to provide progressive emergency medicine that is both affordable and customer friendly to our community. We would love for you to be a part of our team!

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: Starting at $16.00 per hour, based on experience

Receptionist

We are interested in both full-time and part-time receptionists, preferably those who have experience in emergency veterinary medicine. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills - especially when dealing with upset/emotional owners. Candidates must also be proficient in managing sales, maintaining an organized atmosphere, able to efficiently handle multiple phone lines, have basic computer skills, be comfortable working in a fast paced emergent setting, and possess a positive attitude.

Veterinary Assistant

Veterinary assistants play a crucial role in the hospital and ensure that every department gets the support they need to operate successfully and efficiently. As a hospital that nurtures mentorship, our team has a desire to grow in the field. Candidates should be reliable, knowledgeable and have a great work ethic. Candidates should also have excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, be a team player and possess a positive attitude. Prior experience in a veterinary or animal care related facility is a plus.
